Enrollment Process
We are now accepting enrollment applications for the 2025-26 school year. Transfer students may still enroll for the current school year.
Essentials
Hampton Roads Classical is open to all families who desire a traditional education in the liberal arts and sciences. We encourage parents to carefully review the academy’s mission, vision, philosophy of education, and curriculum before applying for admission. Prospective students are admitted to Hampton Roads Classical if they are committed to completing the academic program and integrating into the culture of the school. Students are enrolled at the discretion of the Administration. We reserve the right to refuse admission or continued enrollment to anyone. Applications will be reviewed in the order received.
Application and Re-enrollment for Returning Families
Re-enrollment letters will be sent home to current families in early February, 2025.
Submit re-enrollment letter and $250 non-refundable re-enrollment fee before February 14th, 2025. The re-enrollment fee is $350 after February 17th, 2025.
The $75 application fee is waived for existing families enrolling a new child.
Application and Enrollment for New Families
Open enrollment begins in November, 2024. Students who enroll in November 2024 will not be required to pay the application or enrollment fees listed below.
Submit application with $75 non-refundable application fee (per child).
Students must be 5 years old on or before September 30 to begin kindergarten. Students entering kindergarten must obtain a school physical prior to the first day of school and have it documented on the VA School Entrance Health Form. A list of the state required immunizations must be documented on Part II of or included with this health form before a student will be considered for admission.
For students in 1st grade and above, a request for records will be submitted to their previous school.
Our office will schedule a family interview and admissions assessment for your child. This typically takes approximately 45 minutes. The assessment is used to give admissions and teachers an idea of your child’s ability level for placement. This can be scheduled on the same day as the family interview.
Guaranteeing Your Child’s Spot
Parents will be notified of acceptance within 2 weeks of receipt of application and assessment. Each family must complete an enrollment packet and submit the $350 non-refundable enrollment fee within one week of notification of acceptance. ($900 maximum per family)
A completed enrollment packet and enrollment fee payment will guarantee your child’s spot for the following school year. Classes are filled in the order enrollments are received.
Waiting List
Applications will be accepted without an enrollment fee due until a spot becomes available.
Once a spot is available, families will be notified in the order applications were received.
Families who do not submit the enrollment fee within 48 hours of an opening will forfeit their place on the waiting list, and the next family on the waiting list will be contacted.
Application and Enrollment fees are non-refundable, as the school makes budgetary and hiring decisions based on enrollment.
