Caroline Martin

Mrs. Martin is originally from Maine and lives in Suffolk with her husband Brian.  She is a lifelong learner who believes in HRC because of its focus on teaching how to learn, not what to learn, and to become a virtuous and contributing citizen.

She is a retired President & CEO of Riverside Regional Medical Center and an executive with Riverside Health System. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our board, having served on many nonprofit boards during her 27+ years at Riverside and in her home city of Suffolk. These include the Virginia Hospital Association, Virginia Association of Free Clinics, Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Peninsula Foodbank, and the United Way.  She is a former president of the board for both the Suffolk Partnership for a Healthy Community and the  Western Tidewater Free Clinic and was a founding board member of EdMarc: Hospice for Children, the National Hospice Association as well as the Women’s Impact Fund.

Her most important role has been as the mother of a daughter and son and a wonderful son-and daughter-in-law; two incredible granddaughters married to equally incredible men: and three beautiful great grandchildren.
